The biggest release of the year, Rohit Shetty’s directorial Sooryavanshi releases in India today. The cop action packed thriller is seeing a wide domestic release on nearly 4,000 plus screens and the estimated show count is in the range of 16,000 to 18,000 across the country. This is higher than the likes of Dabangg 3, more or less in the same range as the pre pandemic big budget films like War and approximately 3,000 to 4,000 shows lower than Thugs of Hindostan.

With a massive release, and hiked ticket prices all across due to the festive season of Diwali, the film has sky high potential of faring well on the opening day. Moreover, almost all major markets, except for Maharashtra are functioning at 100% occupancy which has proved to be a blessing for Sooryavanshi. Keeping all factors in mind, the opening day potential of Sooryavanshi, if all the shows perform to their optimal capacity is in the range of Rs. 55 crores, which is nothing but humongous to say the least.

Keeping in mind the current market conditions and delayed advance booking trends, one expects Sooryavanshi to clock the Rs. 20 crore mark at the box-office in India with a chance of touching the Rs. 25 crore mark too, depending on how good the spot bookings eventually turn out to be. But given that it’s the biggest film of the year with a massive star cast ranging from Akshay Kumar to Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh and Katrina Kaif, as also the affiliation with brand Rohit Shetty, the spot bookings are expected to be humongous and the opening does have the potential to surprise one and all.

As far as overseas is concerned, the movie is releasing globally on 1,300 screens.
