‘Sooryavanshi’, which is an addition to Rohit Shetty’s popular cop universe, was supposed to hit the theatres in March 2020. However, the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting lockdown forced the makers to push the release of the movie indefinitely. While many films were released on OTT owing to the closure of cinema halls, makers of ‘Sooryavanshi’ held onto the film to give their fans a theatre experience. After much ado, the film was finally released today, across the nation.
Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif will be seen reuniting in the film after impressing their fans with their chemistry in films like, ‘Welcome’ and ‘Namaste London’. The film will also have cameo appearances by Singham aka Ajay Devgn and Simmba aka Ranveer Singh in the film who will help Sooryavanshi aka Akshay to take down the baddies.
Meanwhile, apart from this, Akshay has a line-up of some very interesting films in his pipeline that includes ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Ram Setu’, ‘Raksha Bandhan’, ‘Atrangi Re’, ‘Cinderella’, ‘Prithviraj’ and others.
Katrina, on the other hand, has ‘Tiger 3’ with Salman Khan and Emraan Hashmi. She is also a part of ‘Phone Bhoot’ co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter. The actress has also been roped in for Ali Abbas Zafar’s superhero series and Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Jee Le Zara’ with Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt.
