‘Acharya’ box office collection Day 1: Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan’s film off to a disappointing start, collects Rs 7.99 crore – Times of India

Chiranjeevi’s latest actioner, Acharya, has not been able to generate early buzz with moviegoers as it could only gross Rs 7.99 crore on its first day of release, as per the trade source. This is lower than the predictions and must be disappointing for those involved. The trade analysts had earlier predicted that the film is expected to earn around Rs 10 to Rs 15 crore on day one.

‘Acharya’, which has been released on 2000 screens across the world, will have to pick up pace over the weekend. The Koratala Siva directorial has opened to mixed critical reception. While people praised Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan’s performances, the movie received flak for its weak story and slow-paced narration.

‘Acharya’ marks the first-ever collaboration between director Koratala Siva, Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan. Koratala Siva rose to fame with his films like Mirchi, Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage and Bharat Ane Nenu. Many fans and critics have notably stated that Acharya failed to make the same mark on the big screen! So far, Acharya has gotten mixed to negative reviews from critics. It will be interesting to see how the film fares at the box office.

‘Acharya’ has been bankrolled by Konidela Production Company and Matinee Entertainment. The technical crew includes Tirru as the Director of Photography, Navin Nooli as the editor, Mani Sharma as the music composer and Suresh Selvarajan as the art director.
