‘The Banshees Of Inishirin’ Trailer: Colin Farrell & Brendan Gleeson Reunite In Martin McDonagh Drama

Searchlight Pictures has dropped the official trailer for The Banshees Of Inishirin, the Irish Civil War drama, written and directed by Martin McDonagh.

The film marks a reunion for In Bruges stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, and is Oscar winner McDonagh’s first feature set in his native Ireland. Set in 1923 on the fictional island of Inisherin, the film follows lifelong friends Pádraic (Farrell) and Colm (Gleeson), who find themselves at an impasse when Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their friendship. A stunned Pádraic, aided by his sister Siobhán (Kerry Condon) and troubled young islander Dominic (Barry Keoghan), endeavours to repair the relationship, refusing to take no for an answer. But Pádraic’s repeated efforts only strengthen his former friend’s resolve and when Colm delivers a desperate ultimatum, events swiftly escalate, with shocking consequences.

The film from Searchlight Pictures and Film 4, in association with TSG Entertainment, produced by Blueprint Pictures, hits theaters on October 21.
