Saira Banu is watching Dilip Kumar’s Aan, says “I don’t know if I’ll be able to hold back tears and sit through” – Exclusive – Times of India

It’s Dilip Kumar‘s 100th birth anniversary tomorrow and to celebrate this momentous occasion, PVR is organising a film festival across the country, where films like Aan, Devdas, Ram Aur Shyam and Shakti. ETimes spoke exclusively to Saira Banu who revealed that she’s going to attend the Hero Of Heroes film festival. She said, “Yes I am going to watch Aan. I don’t know if I will be able to hold back my tears and sit through when I watch Dilip saab on the big screen.”

The screening of Aan to be held at PVR’s Juhu theatre was scheduled for 6 pm today. But since Saira is on her way to the theatre, the organisers are going to hold the screening for 30 minutes to allow Saira to reach the venue in time.

Earlier today, Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira Banu spoke EXCLUSIVELY to ETimes and said, “Everyone loved him and he always gave lovely films to his fans; think of it, his body of work is unparalleled.”

Talking about the Dilip Kumar film festival, Saira Banu said that she was very happy that such an occasion was happening. “We need to understand the importance of restoring our old films. Thanks to Shivin Dungarpur, the gentleman who made this happen in memory of my husband.”

Saira Banu further said that the festival could have been longer. “I would have been happier if they were also showing ‘Ganga Jumna’, ‘Mughal-E-Azam’ and ‘Andaz’. I have a particular fondness for ‘Ganga Jumna’.”
