Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Sunayana Fozdar reveals she auditioned for Anjali Mehta’s role; calls it ‘Bhagwan Ki Daya’ | Bollywood Life

After the exit of Neha Mehta from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Sunayana Fozdar filled in as Anjali Mehta and impressed the audience with her performance. While the gorgeous lady is garnering praises for her comic timing, Sunayana revealed that she gave a proper audition to bag this pivotal role in the popular sit-com. While talking to Koimoi, she said, “We all actors have to go through auditions. I gave an audition for the show and I had a meeting with the producer. We basically understood what they were looking for and what I was looking for, if we are on the same page. Because replacing this character was not easy even for them.” Also Read – Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Sunayana Fozdar breaks her silence on the reported HEFTY fees of the cast

She added, “It is a huge responsibility as it is an iconic show. Characters are also so loved. So the makers also wanted to be sure what they were doing. The pressure was on them equally. I met Asit sir and I auditioned. And that’s how we realised that we were looking for the same thing. Even I was very happy about it because I wanted to do a comedy. Also, Bhagwan ki daya!”

Speaking about her onscreen and offscreen personality, Sunayana earlier said, “We all as actors, we have our own personalities as well. And these days, people have also understood that, with social media coming into play. It’s not necessary that you are exactly what you are as the character you play. Even film actors, when they do some project, they’re just themselves on Instagram. As actors, we have the opportunity to be ourselves and show our different sides to the world. I also feel that people are liking that. I think that is something I never thought about, that ‘I want to do totally something different. I had my own touch to what I want to show to people. Y’all say I’m a diva but I find it funny because personally, I’m a goofball.”
