It’s been an incredible year for Bollywood so far as nine movies have crossed 100 crore mark in the first eight months of the year. The year started on a high as Uri: The Surgical Strike released on 11 Jan 2019 turned out ATBB with the lifetime collection of 245+ crores.
The other big release of January, Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen Of Manikarnika also managed to make 90+ crores at the domestic box office.
Released on 14 Feb, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy won hearts and emerged a big hit with the lifetime collection of 140.25 crores.
Indra Kumar’s multi-starrer comedy movie Total Dhamaal also managed to woo the audience and earned 150+ crores.
March 2019 saw small budget movies like Badla and Luka Chuppi making it big at the box office. Akshay Kumar’s Kesari released on the day of Holi earned 150+ crores.
April was a bad month for Bollywood as two big films RAW and Kalank failed at the box office. May turned out a better month as SOTY 2 manages to make it to the hit movies while Ajay Devgn’s De De Pyaar De emerged super hit with the collection of 100+ crores.
Salman Khan’s Bharat released on 5 June earned 211+ crores in its lifetime. It is the third highest-grossing movie of the year after Uri: The Surgical Strike and Kabir Singh.
Released on 15 Aug 2019, Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal has so far earned 169 crores in just 12 days. John Abraham’s Batla House released on the same day has earned around 87 crores.
